Cézanne is back in florence

Cezanne
Imagine the creation of a masterpiece painting, in a single light dangling dangerously from a water-stained ceiling illuminating a small, cluttered room. Picture an ecstatic shadowed figure hunching over a broken easel; silence permeating the stuffy room, except for the quiet swish of blue paint onto the canvas.

There are many stories yearning to be told through the paintings of old masters, and who else to tell them to, but you? Creative juices will be flowing well into the summer with Paul Cézanne, the French Impressionist (1839-1906). Cézanne developed interest for the arts at a young age and never fully achieved perfection with technical work, often throwing away and leaving many pieces unfinished. His struggles and lack of popularity pass a message to other artists: struggling is all a part of the process, being perfect in the eyes of someone else is not important, but rather developing and embracing your own techniques.
The late artist will, unfortunately, not be making an appearance, but from March 2nd until July 29th, you can catch a glimpse of some of his greatest paintings, which are returning after having been part, about a century ago, of the collections of two young Florentines, Egisto Paolo Fabbri and Charles Loeser.
This is a unique chance to admire many masterpieces from collections from some of the most important museums in the world. The show reconstructs the intense cultural period in Florence at the turn of the century, when intellectuals and artists from all over the world resided here, and describes how their sensitivity and interest in modern art led to the First Italian Impressionist Exhibition in May 1910. Apart from the paintings by Cézanne, it is possible to admire works by Pissarro, Van Gogh and Sargent together with paintings and sculpture by Italian artists who were inspired by this French master’s style like Rosai, Soffici, Carena, Medardo Rosso and many others.
