A ll Celts, especially the Irish, will be heading for Saschall, Florence’s very original theatre in a tent, for the Feast of Ireland 2007. Six evenings dedicated to Irish traditions with folk dancing, meetings, tastings, live concerts, plus beer and typical Irish dishes.

But who is St. Patrick?
Probably born in the 4th century,
St. Patrick is the patron saint of
Ireland and credited with bringing
Christianity to the country, though he was not the first to do so. Documentary evidence about him comes from his two books, the
Confessio and the Epistola, while legends tell of his driving out the snakes from Ireland. He is also supposed to have convinced the
Druids at Tara to abolish their pagan rites and coverted thousands in the Holy Wells that still bear this name. He is thought to have died in around 460 A.D., possibly on March 17th. His bones were attributed with the power of warding off the evil eye.
