The great designer Roberto capucci presents 8 works, as yet never on display before, that were inspired by Florence and created as a tribute to this city that discovered him in 1951, during the epic season that led to the birth of italian Fashion, and launched him on his notable career. they are pure invention, dresses yet sculptures, whose design is at the same time unusual but classical and come in softly ancient colours that still shine with brilliance. the Leaves dress-sculpture perhaps represents the most significant element in the display as it interprets an autumn garden and thus recalls the Bardini Gardens where the Foundation Museum is hosted. other dress-sculptures, selected from the Archives during the years from
1980 to
1990, will also be displayed in the exhibition: a series of ‘micro’ dresses, prototypes for the development of the new lines and shapes that the designer was developing at the time. this material is a constant research for ideas, creative freedom, insight on how to resolve solutions and experimentation that accompanies the visitor along the display route and concludes in the invention of a unique working method inspired by traditions, thus confirming and re-launching quality craftsmanship as an all italian record of the century. Funded with specific economic contributions by the
